8. Muir Snag (3,200-3,500 y/o)

Muir Snag, in the Converse Basin Grove of the Giant Sequoia National Monument, California, is one of the world's tallest standing dead trees in the world. The tree was destroyed between 1892 and 1918 as a result of logging operations in this area.
