'Freedom' and 'Honour' (Ancient Greece).
The term "cork tree" can refer to the Cork oak (Quercus suber) and Chinese cork oak (Quercus variabilis), from which most cork is harvested. However, it can also refer to the Indian cork tree (Millingtonia hortensis) or the Amur cork tree (Phellodendron amurense).
In traditional medicine across Southern Asia, the Indian Cork Tree is used to treat pulmonary issues. The flowers have a very rich and pleasant scent, used in the treatment of asthma, sinusitis, cholagogue, tonic, and also in rituals.
Bark, leaves and roots of the Indian Cork Tree are used for their anti-asthmatic and anti-microbial properties.
