About This Project

Tree Fun Facts is an educational project with the goal of providing a central resource for anyone to educate themselves on the subject of trees. Established in 2019 by Jake Gutteridge & Tarant Hobbs, this site explores a mix of historical, mythological, religious, and scientific perspectives, allowing us to better understand their true value of trees to the world and to humanity.

As trees are some of the oldest living organisms and an essential source of life, it is important for everyone to understand how they are important and why we should respect them.

The wider movement, the League for the International Appreciation of Trees (LIAT), was initiated in 2026. Although based in the UK, our projects have a universal appeal and aim to benefit all of humanity by increasing knowledge and understanding of the nature around us.
